For the commercial hot-peel transfers currently sold by DTF Transfer Zone:
- Temperature: 300–320°F
- Time: 10–15 seconds
- Pressure: Heavy and even
- Peel: Hot, immediately after pressing
Important: If your order includes different instructions, follow the instructions supplied with that transfer. Films, adhesives, garments, and heat presses vary. Test a spare garment or small transfer before production when the fabric is unfamiliar or heat-sensitive.

How to press DTF transfers step by step
1. Inspect the transfer and garment
Confirm the artwork, size, orientation, and garment placement before heating. Check the garment care label and keep seams, zippers, pockets, and buttons outside the pressing area so the platen can close evenly. The garment should be clean, dry, and lint-free.
2. Set the heat press
For DTF Transfer Zone's current hot-peel transfers, set the press to 300–320°F for 10–15 seconds with heavy, even pressure. Start at the lower end of the range for heat-sensitive garments and test first. Allow the press to reach temperature and confirm the pressing area is clean.
3. Prepare a flat pressing surface
Place the garment so the target area lies flat on the lower platen. Briefly pre-press only when it is appropriate for the garment and the supplied transfer instructions; the goal is to remove moisture and wrinkles, not to overheat the fabric.
4. Position the transfer
Place the printed adhesive side against the garment with the clear carrier film facing up. Measure from the collar and side seams, then secure the carrier with heat-resistant tape only if movement is likely.
5. Complete the first press
Close the press and apply the specified time, temperature, and pressure without shifting the garment. Do not automatically add parchment, a Teflon sheet, or another cover layer during the first press; a cover layer changes heat transfer and should be used only when the instructions for that transfer call for it.
6. Peel hot
When the timer ends, open the press and peel the carrier immediately while hot. Keep the garment flat and remove the film in one smooth, steady motion. Do not pause halfway across the design.
7. Inspect before production continues
Check the edges, fine details, and full print surface. If the supplied instructions call for a finishing press, complete it with the recommended cover sheet and time. Do not add a second press by habit when the transfer instructions do not require one.
